Rachel Dahl was raised in Fallon, Nevada and received her BA from the University of Nevada on the 12-year plan. She continued on, receiving her MA in Political Science after a quick eight years.
She has served the local Fallon community as a city councilwoman and as the director of economic development. She has taught high school and middle school English and lived to tell about it, as well as Core Humanities at the University of Nevada, and Political Science at WNC. She has also served the State of Nevada as the Area Manager for the Small Business Administration, working out of the Carson City SBA office as she helped small business owners across the Northern part of the state with all their business needs from training to funding and access to capital.
In January of 2019 Rachel launched the local, online news source, in Fallon, The Fallon Post and in November of 2020 due to popular demand expanded the publication to a weekly print product. She is currently the publisher, editor, writer, ad salesman, and bookkeeper. She has a small band of friends and community members who volunteer to write, edit, and help with printing. Current circulation is 1,100 print copies and there are 22,000 unique users online each month.
She is the mother of three adult children: a rugby-coaching chiropractor, a truck-driving oil-hauler, and a 19-year-old barista. The truck driver and his sweet wife Alicia have made Rachel a grandmother to five-year old Rhett Parsons.
