SUMMARY:Health Insurance Hacks: Slash Your Costs\, Save Big\, Stress Less!
DESCRIPTION:Health insurance is the most expensive – yet least understood – benefit (outside of salaries & wages) offered by employers.  This lack of understanding can often lead to higher healthcare costs – for businesses and employees alike. \nUsing simple & real-life examples\, learn the “hacks” – strategies & tools – to slash your costs\, save big\, and stress less. \nThis training is for anyone who: \n\n       Offers health benefits to their employees.\n       Purchases insurance for themselves…and their families.\n       Is covered under someone else’s health plan.\n       Is considering offering/purchasing coverage.\n\n  \nDaniel Sherer and Lance De Peralta are the founders of Kauzmo LLC\, a Nevada-based company dedicated to helping social impact organizations (or SIOs) – both non-profit & for-profit groups – serve their clients & communities at their absolute best. \nThey offer: \n\n       Workforce Management & Productivity\n       Training & Development\n       Analytics\n       Consulting\n\nTheir specialty – and the focus of today’s training – is healthcare. \nHealth insurance\, in particular. \nDaniel Sherer\nDaniel Sherer has over 40 years of experience in the information technology field\, including 25 years in healthcare. \nDaniel received training in Information Systems from the United States Air Force and was the top graduate in his NCO Leadership class.  Throughout both his military and civilian career\, Daniel has continued both formal and situational training. \nLance De Peralta\nBorn and raised in Hawaii\, Lance De Peralta was a 2022 Cohort Fellow of the state’s “Movers & Shakas” program – an innovative cultural immersion program where a select group of participants from around the world had the unique opportunity to: \n\n       Learn about Hawaii’s people & culture.\n       Network – both within the program and with local civic & business leaders.\n       Serve the community.\n\nLance has over 20 years of healthcare experience.  His career in healthcare began in 2001 – by “accident” – having worked in the Finance Division of a large Northeast insurance carrier\, both as a contractor and a full-time employee. \nIn 2011\, Daniel and Lance crossed paths while working at a healthcare technology company in California.  They were recruited and hired to help grow the company’s “Payer” Division – an organization dedicated to Employers\, Insurance Carriers\, and the Gov’t. – into a multi-million-dollar business. \nThereafter\, Daniel and Lance started and operated a healthcare consulting business for several years before deciding to switch their focus toward SIOs – all the while determined to share their knowledge of healthcare to a broader audience. \nTheir dedication to service – inspired\, in part\, by their families – is Kauzmo’s driving force. \n \nThe Nevada SBDC is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
