DESCRIPTION:As you start your business\, have you ever questioned if you created the right legal structure for your business? Should you be an S-Corp or C-Corp? Join us for a Business Formation 101 discussion to learn about the most common business structure for small businesses\, factors (legal and tax) to consider when selecting a business structure\, and common mistakes. \nThis panel discussion will be hosted by Rachel Flores\, Business Advisor with the Nevada SBDC and our panel is comprised of Sarah Morris\, Attorney and CEO of Morris Law Center and MJ Huffman\, CPA\, CFE and Stockholder of Tompkins & Peters CPAs\, P.C. \nSarah A. Morris co-founded Morris Law Center with Brian Morris in 2015. Sarah regularly appears in both State and Federal Court in Nevada. Prior to founding Morris Law Center\, Sarah gained a broad range of experience at several law firms. This experience includes working for a well-known national insurance defense firm\, as well as a boutique California based firm focused on mortgage banking. \nMary Jennifer Huffman (MJ) has been part of the Tompkins & Peters team since 2007 and became the Tax Department Manager in 2013. Admitted as a Stockholder in 2017\, MJ uses her knowledge and experience in accounting and taxation to provide exceptional service in the areas of entity structure\, QuickBooks system design and consulting\, and tax compliance\, planning and preparation for clients internationally and nationwide. \n \n  \nFunded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
