DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with the Indian Dispute Resolution Services (IDRS) Acorn Project\, join us to learn about what to do if changes are made to your government contract. This webinar series is open for any business owner\, regardless of Native status. \nIf you are successful in being awarded a service or construction contract\, the probability is high a change will be made to your contract. During this webinar you will learn of the different type of changes\, rights and responsibilities of the parties\, as well as when a change is not authorized or when a change is not legally executed and the consequence on both you and the government. \nBennie Gonzales of Supplier University has over 40 years of procurement experience as a Contracting Officer at Nellis AFB and Los Alamos National Laboratory. Bennie is a Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)\, a Certified Lead Quality Assurance Auditor\, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Bennie provides consulting services to small business firms in the area of acquisition\, contract administration\, and/or proposal development.  He currently trains and instructs DoD and civilian agency Contracting Officers. \n  \n**This event series requires two registrations- one for Nevada SBDC and one for the IDRS Acorn Project. DESCRIPTION:Learn about the difference and use of both provisional patent applications and non-provisional patent applications in this patent basics session. A USPTO expert will demystify the patent process\, including the role of the U.S. patent examiner and what to expect when working with the USPTO. Information regarding a number of patent prosecution programs and initiatives available to applicants will also be provided. \nStephen (Steve) Koziol is the Acting Regional Director of the Western Regional United States Patent and Trademark Office and oversees outreach operations for all the USPTO regional offices. Mr. Koziol joined the USPTO in 2007 as a patent examiner\, and has managed teams of examiners in the computer graphics and digital imaging fields. Prior to his move to the West Coast\, Mr. Koziol worked in the Rocky Mountain regional office of the USPTO in Denver\, CO\, where he led the design and implementation of various intellectual property outreach and education programs. He has also focused on the development of patent-specific programs within the USPTO\, including the Post-Grant Outcomes program\, AIA First Inventor to File implementation\, AIPLA Partnering in Patents\, and patent operations cost and fee modeling. \nMr. Koziol received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Bradley University in Peoria\, Illinois. \n \n  \nFunded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
