SUMMARY:Strengthening Entrepreneurial Women Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:We will be joined by Sylvia D. Argueta ADD\, U.S. Department of Labor\, Wage and Hour Division to discuss Family First Relief Act. \n  \n Sylvia Argueta is the Assistant District Director for the US Department of Labor – Wage and Hour Division\, Las Vegas District Office. She is entering her eleventh year of federal service with the agency\, having started her career in West Covina\, CA as an investigator\, eventually transferring to the Los Angeles District Office as the Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist.  Sylvia has worked on a variety of cases involving minimum wage\, overtime\, record keeping\, and child labor violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act. She has also conducted investigations involving other Acts enforced by the Wage and Hour Division such as the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)\, Migrant and Seasonal Worker Protection Act (MSPA)\, Davis Bacon (DBRA) and the Service Contract Act (SCA). She has been the recipient of several Wage and Hour awards and regional recognitions throughout her career. Sylvia was born and raised in Los Angeles\, CA and graduated from Beverly Hills High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California\, Santa Barbara. \nThis series is supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration\, Nevada Small Business Development Center\, and the Nevada’s Women’s Business Center. \n**Your information will be shared with SBA Resource Partner\, Nevada’s Women’s Business Center for this event.** \n \n  \nFunded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development’s (GOED’s) Nevada Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC)\, Procurement Outreach Program (POP) and Nevada SBDC to learn more about government/public sector contracting – these virtual presentations\, which are presented at no charge\, are designed for Nevada for-profit businesses\, especially the small businesses*: \nAny Nevada small business that is – or is not – a member of a chamber of commerce or other business-oriented organization in Nevada\, and that is interested in selling its goods and/or services in the government/public sector\, is encouraged to attend \n\nAfter an about 10-minute Nevada PTAC overview\, let us learn from a live briefing from Tonita Brown\, Purchasing and Contracts Analyst and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Liaison Officer\, RTC & from Joe Damiani\, P.E.\, Engineering Manager\, Streets and Highways\, RTC\n\nIn order to accommodate prospective webinar attendees’ schedules\, and to provide the maximum opportunity for attendees to ask questions\, this webinar will be conducted live on different days and timeframes.
