FOCI stands for Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence, a regulatory term used by the U.S. government to evaluate national security risks when a foreign entity holds power over a domestic company.
What is FOCI?
A U.S. company is under FOCI when a foreign person, government, or firm has direct or indirect power to direct or decide key matters in management or operations. This relationship creates a risk of unauthorized access to sensitive or classified data.
