We will be joined by Sylvia D. Argueta ADD, U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division to discuss Family First Relief Act.
Sylvia Argueta is the Assistant District Director for the US Department of Labor – Wage and Hour Division, Las Vegas District Office. She is entering her eleventh year of federal service with the agency, having started her career in West Covina, CA as an investigator, eventually transferring to the Los Angeles District Office as the Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist. Sylvia has worked on a variety of cases involving minimum wage, overtime, record keeping, and child labor violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act. She has also conducted investigations involving other Acts enforced by the Wage and Hour Division such as the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Migrant and Seasonal Worker Protection Act (MSPA), Davis Bacon (DBRA) and the Service Contract Act (SCA). She has been the recipient of several Wage and Hour awards and regional recognitions throughout her career. Sylvia was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from Beverly Hills High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
