Drop-in Dental- Going Miles for Healthy Smiles
Dr. Veronika Vazquez, University of Nevada, Reno alumni (’00) sought out the Nevada SBDC to help her turn her idea of mobile dentistry into a reality. “The Nevada SBDC provided outstanding, detailed guidance and enthusiasm for my business.” Thanks to the help received from the Nevada SBDC, Dr. Vazquez was able to obtain funding to purchase the necessary equipment for her mobile dentistry center. The networking connections provided by the Nevada SBDC helped Dr. Vazquez expand her range and clientele. The mobile dental practice works with University of Nevada, Reno medical students to reach over 18 drop-in patients per day in rural Nevada. Dr. Vazquez and her team are able to provide no-cost care to northern Nevadans who are uninsured, underinsured or without a social security number. Drop-in Dental has successfully launched their mobile dentistry practice and now provides on-site dental services to rural, under-served, and senior populations throughout Nevada.
